Art has been a creative outlet over the years, a tool for catharsis, marking important events, and honoring the past. I am inspired by the visual artists Picasso, Dali, and Van Gogh due to the emotional, unbalanced, and dreamlike nature from periods of each of their works. 

I draw multiple styles of tattooing such as anthropological tribal markings, Sketch or Etching styles, New School colors, and American Traditional Style Tattoos. I am fascinated by tattoos since childhood where I was exposed to my grandfather's traditional military tattoos.

 

My work generally focuses on animals and their environments, as well as the ritual of marking a specific memory or event on the skin. My belief is that art should evoke emotions as catharsis and or mark important events in one's life or in the overall culture and time. My art-making process consists of rough lines and bold colors built up in layers usually representing one or two specific things or ideas. 

Art is a dialog, it is meant to evoke an emotion, or relate a concept, or mark an event not only for the creator and the wearer, but also reflecting experience to the viewer.
